The journey from that very first sighting to the kiss in front of the altar is like an insane rollercoaster, but at the same time it should undoubtedly be one of the best periods in anyone’s life. This blissful time of course leads on to the official closure of the ceremony – the end of the beginning, as it were – the honeymoon, a wonderful trip to exotic places where the young couple can finally relax after the stress of the big day is behind them.
And, in this modern world, most will also take some nice photos to share with the world, further sealing their togetherness. But the best of all is that, just like in the case of any photos you have taken together, honeymoon pictures are the ideal subject of a romantic photo book.
Whether you planned to create a photo book from your honeymoon pictures or not, don’t let it dwell on your mind; forget about it temporarily and instead spend as much time with your new husband/wife as possible. And don’t worry about the pictures either: there will be plenty of them by the end of your trip.
Speaking of which…
In almost all cases, honeymoons are booked to the most beautiful places in the world. Therefore this trip is hitting two birds with one stone, since happy honeymooners can take photos of paradise and, of course, themselves during their stay, either with a regular camera or with a smart mobile device. However, the beauty of honeymoon photos is that they automatically fall into two categories, love and travel: in other words anything related to love and/or travel can be included in the future photo book. And just like with typical travel photos, there’s no need to be completely serious in every picture: this is your honeymoon after all, and what better way to prove to the world that you had the time of your life than with photos showing you with a smile from ear to ear?
A little tip: it is also recommended to keep everything – not just photos – from the honeymoon, too. Certain photo books can be ordered with small pockets in which you can store tickets, flyers and anything else you collected during the trip.
Finding a true honeymoon photo book theme is very unlikely, unless we take into consideration Shutterfly’s limited collection. The reason behind this is that a honeymoon is generally considered a pleasure holiday, therefore your best chance at creating an outstanding honeymoon photo book is by selecting a travel theme or using the DIY method and putting everything together yourself. But no matter which method you choose, if you already have a concept in mind before starting the building process – which can be absolutely anything that pops into your head – then your photo book will be built under no time.
Remember that a photo book editor provides countless options regarding customization, meaning even preset themes can be modified to your liking. There are some rules, though, regarding the quantity and quality of photos. Quantity-wise the most important rule is that pages should contain one or two photos tops, varied with pages of collages made from four or five pictures at most. As for the quality of the pictures, use photos that don’t look distorted when printed: thankfully many editors help you out here by warning you of any low resolution images. Another thing to keep in mind is the right use of text: although having cliches is not a grave sin, if you include something truly original – a simple caption, a short story or a fitting quote – then already you will have added that personal touch customers love about customizable photo books.
This is another feature where there are no limits at all. However, when designing the overall appearance of the book, keep in mind two things: what kind of honeymoon book you would like and who else will be receiving a copy? Being modest will help your terrific, preconceived idea really shine. This carries through to the physical object itself, where it is best to have such a book ordered with a hard photo cover (or any finer material that has a die-cut window) in the middle range size. This way your honeymoon memories will look their very best to anyone that might see the book. And let’s face it, that will be everyone.
